In our special online forum on Jan 12, with two separate 1 hour sessions and a 1 hour break, we'll look at the latest developments, with 2 separate talks from G2 Ocean, a joint venture of two of the world’s largest open hatch shipowning companies Gearbulk and Grieg Maritime Group. Also Utkilen, which operates 24 chemical tankers, and Ankeri, a a company in Iceland providing cloud based tools.

Kristin Helen Andersen, Vice President IT, G2 Ocean
Kristin will tell about G2 Ocean’s journey connecting sea and shore. Easy to connect means embracing the control of data through new ways of visible and transparent information within G2 Ocean companies. G2 Ocean has done a lot on shore side, and currently focusing on their vessels - as the digital transformation is bringing the two closer.
Kristin Hellen Andersen is Vice President IT in UnITy, the joint IT department established between G2 Ocean, Gearbulk and Grieg Star. She has 15 years of experience working with technology driven management both in private and public sector. Her area of responsibilities has mainly been in the interface between business and IT, as Head of IT or Head of Business Development. Before Kristin went into Shipping in 2018 she has been working with digital strategy and projects with a special focus on transformation within different business sectors, ranging from Consulting to Transportation. Kristin truly believes that IT can be an important business driver in the digital transition Shipping is experiencing.

Leif will talk about Intelligent Ship Transport System project that Utkilen participates at. The project aims to find a good architecture for data flow from the vessels ashore in a unified format that will help shipowners work with different applications easily.
Leif Gunnar Alvær is Digitalisation Manager at Utkilen Shipping. Prior he had a 13-year career at Odfell Tankers working on energy management and competence development projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in shipping operations from Southampton Solent University and Master of management with the focus on organisational psychology from Norwegian Business School.

Ådne Faugstad-Kaldestad is currently Cyber Security Manager at G2 Ocean that he joined in 2019 after 6-year career being Cyber Security Engineer at ABB. He has become a certified Information Systems Security professional from (ISC)² and also holds relevant certificates from ComTIA, LogRythm, Checkpoint, and CISCO.

Kristinn will present solutions for administrating data streams from vessels and how chartering workflows can be simplified by scalable modern data-driven productivity software.
Kristinn Aspelund founded Ankeri with his long-time friend Leifur in 2016. Before starting Ankeri, Kristinn was co-founder of Marorka where he served for 15 years. Kristinn sit on board of directors of Association of Icelandic start-up companies and Univeristy of Iceland Science Park. Kristinn holds MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from GaTech.
